NATO-allied forces are losing the fight in Afghanistan

It is inconceivable that unarmed young boys aged between 8 and 14 years, walking in a valley, would be any threat to heavily armed and experienced Nato troops. No apologies for the incident were offered because Nato commanders shamelessly maintained they had bombed “armed men”!

The dastardly killings are a reflection of the fatigued Nato forces fighting a losing war in far-flung lands – a war whose rationale was being questioned even by the citizens of the very countries with troops on the ground in Afghanistan.


If they keep to their plan, the US-led Nato forces will withdraw from Afghanistan in 2014. When they launched the war against the Taliban, following the September 11 terrorist attacks on the US, the Western war strategists expected a “decisive military victory”.
